ARTIST STATMENT

Mary Lynch

On leaving school Mary studied fashion at Colchester Art School and Hornsey College of Art. She has a BA in Art History, an MA in Contemporary Art and a PGCE in Art and Design education. She is an oil painting restorer, living in Colchester: marylynchrestoration.com and is now concentrating on her own art practice.

Her paintings are often quirky, with a fashion illustration influence. The most recent work depicts flower compositions. Bright vivid colours and joyful scenes form the basis of her paintings.

Mary has exhibited in London, Ipswich, Clacton-on- Sea and Colchester. Her paintings are held in private collections in London, Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex and Colchester.
